Exceptional Resources and Support

St. Jude is supported by ALSAC, one of the world's leading nonprofit charitable organizations, which is dedicated to advancing cures and means for prevention of pediatric catastrophic diseases. Funds raised by ALSAC support the St. Jude research mission and promote the performance of groundbreaking science. Our unique funding model affords St. Jude faculty members exceptional resources and a remarkable degree of freedom to innovate. St. Jude scientists and research programs also receive outstanding support from competitive external grants and awards.

St. Jude faculty and staff enjoy access to a superb array of shared resources and core facilities that are supported by the institution to reduce costs to investigators. Dedicated staff, many with advanced degrees, are available to work with researchers as experts, consultants or full collaborators. In-depth training is available for individuals interested in adopting new technologies.

Numerous core facilities are offered, including genome sequencing and engineering, light and electron microscopy, proteomics and mass spectroscopy, transgenic and knockout production, pharmacokinetics, clinical research support and many others. St. Jude also has a unique chemical library of more than 800,000 small molecules — one of the largest at any academic institution — as well as high-throughput screening capabilities and an on-campus Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility to produce biologics for clinical trials.
