In the past 40 years, we have become an international resource for the study and treatment of catastrophic childhood diseases and have made dramatic progress in finding cures. There is much more that needs to be done.

Patients with the genetic foundation to marshal an efficient, rapid response to the H5N1 influenza virus are more likely than others to survive the bird flu, according to a team led by St. Jude investigators. Adrianus CM Boon, PhD, was the lead author of a paper on the study published in the Journal of Virology.
