St. Jude patients and families at Target House got a taste of life in the fast lane August 9 as Indianapolis 500 winners and Target Chip Ganassi Racing teammates Juan Pablo Montoya, Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon dropped by to show their support for children receiving treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The three racers shared dinner with St. Jude patients and their families before engaging in a silly string war on the house’s lawn and then visiting a mini-carnival on the St. Jude campus.
Established in 1999 in the Midtown area of Memphis, Tennessee – just a few miles from the St. Jude campus – Target House offers free housing to St. Jude patients and their families needing accommodations for more than 90 days. The facility’s resort-style structure offers total privacy in each of its 96 apartments while still prominently featuring common areas for interaction and mutual support.
