The 52nd annual AutoZone Liberty Bowl was a big winner for the kids of St. Jude. Each year, players and coaches from both teams visit the campus of St. Jude. This year’s Liberty Bowl-bound teams visited the hospital for their tours and spread holiday cheer to patients and their families.

The University of Central Florida Knights visited the hospital December 28, and the University of Georgia Bulldogs visited on December 29. Players and patients enjoyed tossing around football talk in anticipation of the upcoming bowl game yet to be played.Adding to the excitement of the big game to come, Miss AutoZone Liberty Bowl 2010 Kaitlin Long and many members of her court from around the country came together at St. Jude on December 30. The queen and her court made the rounds to visit patients and families and to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

The AutoZone Liberty Bowl was played on December 31, at Memphis’ Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, to a crowd of more than 51,000 cheering fans. The teams went head-to-head all the way to the end in an exciting game as the University of Central Florida Knights won over the Georgia Bulldogs with a final score of 10-6.
