Kings of Leon band together for Music Gives

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is proud to announce that southern rock band Kings of Leon have signed up to become ambassadors for Music Gives to St. Jude Kids.

Since 2003, Kings of Leon have released five albums of their specific breed of hard-edged southern rock. The four-piece band, which consists of three brothers and a cousin, is hugely popular in Britain and Australia, with nine U.K. Top 40 singles and two Brit Awards. In the U.S., their fourth album Only by the Night contained three number-one singles and was their first album to reach platinum. In 2011, they received a Grammy nomination for their song “Radioactive.”

Music Gives to St. Jude Kids enlists artists large and small, emerging and established, to join St. Jude in the fight against childhood cancer. Conceived by musician Jason Thomas Gordon, lead singer of the band Kingsize and grandson of hospital founder Danny Thomas, Music Gives is the newest initiative to benefit St. Jude.

Music Gives will unite artists and their fans in supporting St. Jude through a variety of opportunities, including concert promotions, ticket add-on donations, text-to-donate messages, social media and a range of other giving opportunities. To help launch the program, Ticketmaster and Live Nation are showcasing the program by running a summer promotion that enables consumers to donate to St. Jude with every ticket purchased from July 26 through August 22.
