Stone Temple Pilots tune up for Music Gives

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is happy to announce that veteran alternative rockers Stone Temple Pilots are ambassadors for Music Gives to St. Jude Kids.

After performing at the inaugural concert for the St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Hope Show, the reunited Stone Temple Pilots have committed themselves once again to helping cure childhood cancer.

“We are humbled, honored and filled with grace by being given this very special opportunity,” says STP singer Scott Wieland.

Since first coming to national prominence in the early 90s, Stone Temple Pilots have dominated the airwaves, racking up 15 singles on the Billboard Top Ten, winning a GRAMMY in 1994 for “Plush,” and having their five albums sell more than 35 million copies worldwide.

Music Gives to St. Jude Kids enlists artists large and small, emerging and established, to join St. Jude in the fight against childhood cancer. Conceived by musician Jason Thomas Gordon, lead singer of the band Kingsize and grandson of hospital founder Danny Thomas, Music Gives is the newest initiative to benefit St. Jude.

Music Gives will unite artists and their fans in supporting St. Jude through a variety of opportunities, including concert promotions, ticket add-on donations, text-to-donate messages, social media and a range of other giving opportunities. To help launch the program, Ticketmaster and Live Nation are showcasing the program by running a summer promotion that enables consumers to donate to St. Jude with every ticket purchased from July 26 through August 22.
