Professional Advisory Board - Helping Children

(Memphis, Tennessee - October 6, 2003)

Larry Kirk from Hancock Fabrics

PAB member Larry Kirk from Hancock Fabrics will join a host
of others from the entertainment and business worlds for the
biannual PAB meeting this week.

This week, members of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Professional Advisory Board (PAB) will be in Memphis, Tennessee, to hear about some of the fund-raising initiatives planned for the coming year and to offer their guidance and support.

The PAB consists of many leaders from the entertainment and business worlds—from Memphis Grizzlies superstar Shane Battier to Larry Kirk, CEO of Hancock Fabrics, to supermodel Amber Valletta. Twice a year, PAB members come to St. Jude to hear about the work that is taking place in the search for a cure and the work that is being done to raise funds to support that research.

“The PAB is St. Jude’s champion in the business world,” said Richard Shadyac, ALSAC national executive director. “The individuals on this board have felt a calling to St. Jude, to follow in Danny’s footsteps and have committed their time, energy and resources to helping the hospital fulfill its mission:  to eliminate childhood catastrophic diseases.”
