The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship (Subspecialty Resident) Program has been awarded continuous full accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). It is sponsored by two freestanding children’s hospitals, Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The program is three years long and is sufficiently flexible to allow trainees to gain expertise in pediatric infectious diseases clinical practice and an area of basic, clinical or translational science research. The goal of the infectious diseases fellowship training program is to train future leaders in pediatric infectious diseases; physicians who are capable of making important clinical or basic science observations and transforming them into ideas that can be applied to the pathogenesis of infectious diseases or therapeutic interventions.
