A: DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The Foundation was formed in January, 2000, by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). For more information, see

A: Anyone who has a story to share about how a nurse exemplified compassionate care for a patient.

A: RNs (including research nurses, PK nurses, etc.)/ LPNs/ APNs (Advanced Practice Nurse)
