When Danny Thomas founded St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, he kicked off a legacy of family giving that’s been passed down to his children, Marlo, Terre and Tony, and his grandchildren. Now, with the new St. Jude Generations, grandparents and parents can share their own legacy of giving with their children.

The St. Jude Generations program is designed to teach children about the value of philanthropy while also introducing them to important financial skills they will need as they prepare to be part of America’s next great generation. That’s why we are excited to offer this new program. As members of the GenH Club (Generation Hope), children will learn the importance of saving, sharing and spending their money, and gain lifelong skills vital to their financial future.

Parents and grandparents can enroll their child in the GenH Club by visiting An adult sponsor is required for children to participate. Children who sign up for the program receive quarterly newsletters and online access to games and a virtual hospital tour. Sponsors receive two mailings a year, which include activities, such as a blank family tree, that they can complete with the children in their lives.

Participants will also receive a specially designed Hopejar™ bank kit. The three-compartment Hopejar Bank kit separates money for saving, sharing and spending. Along with the kit comes information on how to use each section of the bank.

Danny once said, “There are two kinds of people in this world: The givers and the takers. The takers sometimes eat better, but the givers always sleep better.” Join today and help give your child important financial skills that will ensure their success in the future as they learn the value of giving.
