New CVS Caremark Rehabilitation Services Center opens

Siblings Austin and Haley Carter came to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to fight osteosarcoma, a bone cancer. Though their diagnosis was similar the treatment for each was different: Austin's right leg was amputated while Haley received an internal prosthetic in her left leg. The CVS Caremark Rehabilitation Services Center helps St. Jude patients like Austin and Haley return to their active lifestyles.

With a $16 million commitment provided by CVS/pharmacy, the newly renovated CVS Caremark Rehabilitation Services Center has doubled the current space allowing St. Jude staff to better provide audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology services to St. Jude patients. The new space also features an open rehab area, separate fitness area, special infant rooms and a separate toddler room. This expansion will begin to position St. Jude as the world leader in pediatric oncology rehabilitation education.
