On January 25, Latin music artists, representatives from 15 Spanish-language TV stations and many celebrity guests joined St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s radio partners in Memphis for the 11th annual Promesa y Esperanza Seminar. The seminar is a chance for St. Jude to thank the participants for all they do for the kids of St. Jude and for the participants to learn how to make their radiothons as successful as possible.

Since its inception in 1997, Promesa y Esperanza has raised more than $88 million in cash and pledges.

Special guests of the seminar included artists Joel Lizarraga of Banda El Recodo, A. B. Quintanilla and Kumbia All Starz, Kany Garcia, Neida Sandoval, Raul Gonzalez and Leslie Grace. But the most special guests were the patients of St. Jude. Attendees of the seminar got the opportunity to hear from St. Jude patients Yiressi, Apollos, Susy and Ashley and learn what St. Jude has meant to them.

ALSAC/St. Jude employee Fabi Alarcon is excited about the global effects of this seminar. “This meeting has had such incredible positive energy, and every year our friends return home re-charged and ready to share the story of what St. Jude is doing to save young cancer patients all over the world.”
