What are Special Events for
St. Jude?

Special Events for St. Jude encompasses a variety of fun, volunteer-based, community or group events that raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The program is very flexible. Events may consist of:

  • Martial Arts
  • Workout Events
  • Garage Sales
  • Dinners
  • Bowl-a-thons
  • Car Washes

Workout events are a great opportunity for fitness club members and staff to participate in. Donors can pledge a flat donation for the participant, or clubs can choose to conduct their events by obtaining pledges based on pounds lifted, bike miles ridden, minutes walked, circuit training or other exercises as selected by the coordinator.

Martial art events are also great events for academies to get involved in. Many successful events have included exhibitions, kick-a-thons, board-breaking demonstrations and other activities to raise funds for St. Jude.

How can you get involved today?

Sign up to be a Special Events coordinator and hold your own event. Next, recruit participants, distribute fundraising materials provided by St. Jude, and ask them to contact their family and friends to gather donations for taking part in the event.

Why host a Special Event?

  • Provide help for children battling cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
  • Provide a meaningful event to bring your club, organization, company or group together.
  • Opportunity to generate press coverage for your club, organization, company or group.
  • To create partnerships between you and area businesses through event sponsorship.
  • Earn great prizes. (View prizes)

Meet Jack
The first indication that something was wrong with Jack occurred in October 2007, when he developed swelling on his left forearm. Doctors thought it might be lymphangioma, a benign mass. Jack's parents, Katie and Ryan, kept an eye on him. "He played normally and everything was going good," said Katie.
