The St. Jude Clinic at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is north Alabama’s first pediatric cancer care and hematology clinic. 

Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children (HHWC) was established in 2002 and is one of three dedicated children’s hospitals in Alabama. HHWC offers comprehensive pediatric health care services and the only Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) and Pediatric Emergency Room in northern Alabama. Huntsville’s pediatric program has been recognized as one of the Top 50 in the nation.

The HHWC has 40 beds for general pediatrics and a 10 bed PICU. The pediatric hematology/oncology patients will be hospitalized in the PICU to utilize the hepafilter system.

The St. Jude Clinic at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children is managed by Dr. Lucille Ferrante, a former Huntsville pediatrician who recently completed her fellowship in pediatric oncology and hematology at Medical University of South Carolina.


About the Huntsville Affiliate Outpatient Clinic

The St. Jude Clinic opened in January 2007. The affiliate clinic is staffed with 1 Physician, 3 Nurses, 1 Child Life Specialist, 1 Data Manager and 1 Billing Clerk. The clinic statistics for Fiscal Year 2008 include: 204 inpatient days, 795 outpatient visits and accrued 20 new oncology patients that were sent to St. Jude Memphis.
