Medical Director, My Child Matters Program
Originally from Pakistan, Alia Zaidi, MD did her general pediatric and subspecialty hematology-oncology training in Pakistan and the United Kingdom. Alia has been involved in academic and clinical pediatric oncology practice since 2001. In that time, she pioneered pediatric oncology fellowship training in Pakistan in 2005 and was one of the founding members of the Pakistan Society of Pediatric Oncology. Her vast experience in pediatric oncology teaching, training and clinical practice in resource constrained settings led to her selection as the inaugural Global Health Pediatric Hematology Oncology Fellow at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 2012, where she wrote the formal curriculum for this fellowship program for future participating fellows. Alia is the recipient of a grant agreement between Sanofi Espoir Foundation (SEF) and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, for which she serves as the physician program manager of SEF’s My Child Matters (MCM) program. Alia’s work with MCM involves mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation of all currently ongoing pediatric oncology outcome improvement projects in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
