Thanks to a special Target promotion, Super Love Sender, Facebook users have a new opportunity to help the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Target has earmarked $1 million to be distributed to St. Jude and four other charity partners through a humorous campaign that combines football and love just in time for Super Bowl XLIV and Valentine’s Day. Target Facebook fans and other Facebook users will determine how much of the $1 million each charity receives.
For two weeks starting January 31, Facebook users can visit www.facebook.com/target and then click on the Super Love Sender tab to upload a personal photo and customize one of three quirky Valentine’s Day, football-inspired video cards to send to friends and family in support of their favorite charity. Every time a video card is sent, that charity will receive one vote. Facebook users can send up to 10 cards per computer per day. The total number of votes will determine the percentage of the $1 million each charity will receive.
On February 15, Target will announce the final donations to each charity. Funds donated to St. Jude through the Super Love Sender promotion will support the hospital’s groundbreaking research and lifesaving care. St. Jude will use funds to support the St. Jude School Program, which is staffed with accredited teachers and helps patients stay on track academically while undergoing treatments that can last months.
