Research Interests

My laboratory is focused on understand how aberrations in apoptosis, transcription and cell division contribute to human tumorigenesis and tumor metastasis. The three main areas of investigation are:

  • Determining the role of caspase-8 in neuroblastoma tumorigenesis and metastasis
  • Defining the different roles and biological significance of the three different CDK11 protein isoforms in transcription, splicing and mitosis
  • Understanding the role of the ChlR1 DNA helicase in chromosome cohesion and chromatin structure.
