About Music Gives to St. Jude Kids

Music Gives to St. Jude Kids is the newest music initiative to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The program offers artists of various musical genres the chance to raise much-needed funds and awareness for St. Jude through a variety of opportunities, such as song donations, concert ticket add-ons and social media collaborations. So far Music Gives ambassadors include Sheryl Crow, Kings of Leon, Stone Temple Pilots and the L.A.-based rock group Kingsize, which is led by Jason Thomas Gordon, the grandson of Danny Thomas and the visionary behind the Music Gives program.

But the Music Gives program is actually just the latest generation of collaboration between the Thomas family and their friends in the entertainment industry. From the earliest days of St. Jude, Danny enlisted such luminaries as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Ray Charles. He later collaborated with Randy Owen, lead singer of the award-winning group ALABAMA, which led to the creation of Country Cares for St. Jude Kids.

In the decades since, these collaborations have continued. Through fundraising campaigns of their own, Danny’s children—Marlo, Terre and Tony—have joined forces with some of today’s biggest stars: Jennifer Aniston, Cindy Crawford, Faith Hill, Tiger Woods, Robin Williams and Ray Romano, among many others.

Now the next generation is playing its part. For the past several years, Jason has been busy partnering with some of the biggest names in the music industry to raise money for St. Jude. Gordon first created the St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Hope Show with Tom Carolan of Total Box Music, a concert series that travelled across the United States raising money and awareness for the children of St. Jude. Now Gordon is back with his biggest collaborative venture yet—bringing his rock-star talents and rock-star connections to benefit St. Jude.

A new campaign to raise money and awareness for St. Jude through music based initiatives.
