On April 29, a newly formed group of dedicated runners lined up in front of the Patient Care Center as they prepared to go the distance for the kids of St. Jude. Inspired by and patterned after the annual Memphis to Peoria Run, now in its 29th year, the Memphis to Mobile Run started with a bang in its first year – with 36 runners from five states. St. Jude and ALSAC employees cheered on the runners as they hit the road on their long journey.

Prior to the big send-off at noon, the guests were treated to a hospital speaker and a tour. The runners were split into two teams to begin their four-day, 380-mile relay-style event through Tennessee, Mississippi and Alabama to finish on May 2 at the USS Alabama Battleship in Mobile, Ala.
