Since 2007, DICK’S Sporting Goods' passion for the mission and children of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has run throughout the company, from executive offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to its newest stores in the Pacific Northwest.

Enthusiasm, competition and flawless execution led to another great St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign in 2011, as DICK’S and its partner brand, Golf Galaxy, raised $4.8 million. DICK’S has raised more than $17.5 million in the five years they have participated in the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign. The compassion of its employees and their burning desire to be No. 1 have made DICK’S a leader among St. Jude partners.

The core of DICK’s program has been the add-on campaign, where consumers can donate $1, $5 or $10 during checkout. DICK’S Sporting Goods completed its inaugural St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign in December 2007, nearly doubling its initial goal of $1 million. That $1.9 million was the largest amount ever raised by a first-year partner, a record that still stands. DICK’S second campaign raised $2.4 million in 2008.

DICK’S kicked off its 2010 campaign by including St. Jude patient, Chase, at the Store Managers meeting in Orlando, Florida, inspiring DICK’S managers from coast to coast. Employee communication, store-level execution, consumer incentives and internal competition helped DICK’S raise more than $3.4 million.

In 2011 DICK'S kicked off its campaign by including St. Jude patient, Matthew, at the Store Managers meeting, inspiring DICK'S managers from coast to coast. Employee communication, store-level execution, consumer incentives, and internal competition paved the way for a total of $4.8 million raised. DICK'S remains a leader among corporate partners as a true champion for the children of St. Jude.
