    Research Interests

Dr. Jianrong (John) Wu's research centers on the statistical design and data analysis for Therapeutics of Solid Tumor Program (TSTP) and Pediatric Pre-Clinical Testing Program (PPTP) at St Jude.

My research interest is to develop new methodology for designing clinical trial and pre-clinical study. Pediatric cancer clinical trial is often conducted as a single-arm phase II study with time-to-event as the primary endpoint. Statistical methodology to design such study is relatively scarce. My research is to provide more flexible and powerful statistical design for such studies. For pre-clinical tumor xenograft model, my research interest is to develop new methodology to assess the anti-tumor activity of the treatment for single drug testing and to assess the synergism for drug-drug combination testing. My other research areas are survival data analysis and likelihood-based small sample and large sample inference with application to clinical trial.
