Patients adorn St. Jude gingerbread house with sweet creations
Photography by BMC
The St. Jude Gingerbread House took shape recently outside the Kay Kafe as the hospital’s Food Services and Facilities and Operations Maintenance departments constructed the 8-by-10-foot structure. The house’s exterior was created using gingerbread, icing and candy.
After the house was constructed, St. Jude patients added a special touch to the landscaping with the help of more than a dozen chefs from Memphis-area restaurants. Chefs assisted patients and siblings in the decoration of 12-inch lollipops which included an assortment of toppings such as icing, gumballs and gummy bears. The creations were placed alongside the gingerbread house and will be displayed throughout the holiday season.
