St. Jude employees lined the red carpet in front of the Patient Care Center July 15 to cheer the brothers and sisters of St. Jude patients. During the hospital’s annual Sibling Star Day, children basked in the well-deserved spotlight as they received kudos for the sacrifices they make for their brothers or sisters who are undergoing treatment. Many times, siblings are the forgotten victims. As overwhelmed parents expend their energies providing information, support and comfort to the child who is sick, they sometimes have difficulty providing enough time and attention to siblings. Sibling Star Day honors siblings’ contributions in the healing process of patients. Employee and staff participation adds a special element to the event and is greatly appreciated by the families.
