In June 2000, Tammy was found to have rhabdomyosarcoma, a soft tissue cancerous tumor that arises in muscles.
In January 1999, Brayden was found to have a combination of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) -- a rare combination. St. Jude sees about one such case a year.
Courtney was found to have an unknown form of sarcoma (later classified as undifferentiated sarcoma with rhabdoid features) in March 2003.
