For the fourth consecutive year, Benihana partnered with St. Jude to help celebrate children, especially the kids of St. Jude. Benihana’s annual benefit for St. Jude is part of the company’s Children Helping Children program. It is held in May in conjunction with Kodomo no Hi, or Children’s Day, in Japan, when the happiness of children is honored and celebrated.

Benihana brought the Japanese celebration to America where they hosted an artwork contest in which Benihana donated $1 to St. Jude for every entry form received. In addition to the contest, Benihana made a contribution to St. Jude for every child’s meal ordered on Saturday, May 5.

As well as making a monetary donation to St. Jude, Benihana also honored the children of St. Jude on May 8 when the Memphis location hosted a private party for more than 300 St. Jude patients and their families. This was a time for the patients and their families to relax and enjoy themselves for the evening. The families were treated to delicious appetizers before the main attraction of a Benihana-style dinner complete with dessert.

Benihana raised more than $55,000 for the kids of St. Jude through this year’s campaign.
