As a St. Jude Thanks and Giving® partner, Dollar General has raised more than $1 million annually since 2006. Through an in-store pinup program, Dollar General’s loyal customers have donated more than $7.8 million in aggregate to the hospital—a truly remarkable achievement.
Dollar General has been a vital part of the St. Jude family for several years, offering continuous commitment to Danny Thomas’s belief that “no child should die in the dawn of life.”
In addition to the valuable financial support generated through the in-store St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign, Dollar General has raised community awareness for St. Jude and offered incredible life experiences for patients.
In 2011, Dollar General once again hosted a St. Jude patient family at the Dollar General 300 NASCAR race in Concord, North Carolina. Patient Riley Brilliant and his family had an unforgettable experience, meeting drivers and pit crews and enjoying the race from various VIP vantage points. Most recently, Dollar General celebrated the 50th anniversary of the hospital by serving as a Hope sponsor at the John Rich & Friends event.
Dollar General continued its add-on program in 2011 with more than 9,000 participating stores. Dollar General has helped the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign become one of the most successful fundraising programs for St. Jude and a holiday tradition for shoppers. St. Jude is grateful for Dollar General’s longstanding commitment to children and families.
