During a special night that matched the excitement of a bustling New York evening, more than 100 St. Jude patients and their siblings and dates taxied to the hospital’s annual Teen Formal in stretch limousines bound for a Big Apple-themed prom on the hospital’s campus.
Rain showers failed to damper the occasion as a red carpet lined with welcoming employees greeted the party’s guests.
Before the big night began, the teens received salon treatment at the Target House residence facility. Girls had their hair, make-up and nails done while the boys donned tuxedoes.
The Teen Formal, sponsored by the St. Jude Child Life Program, is held each spring for patients and their siblings, ages 15–19, who may be unable to attend their typical high school prom due to their hospitalization and treatment.
