Pediatric Hematology/Oncology PGY2 Residency (ASHP Accredited)

St Jude Children’s Research Hospital offers a 12-month specialized Residency (PGY2) in Pediatric Hematology / Oncology. The program is accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP). This residency experience includes training in general hematology / oncology, bone marrow transplantation, infectious disease and ambulatory care. Residents are provided training in applied pharmacokinetics, nutrition support, and advanced training in clinical therapeutics of the pediatric cancer patient.
Along with direct patient care responsibilities, the resident will have the opportunity to: help precept Doctor of Pharmacy students through the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy; provide didactic lectures, in-services, journal clubs; and participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee, as well as conduct collaborative clinical research. Residents will also be required to participate in an independent research activity during their year which is expected to result in submission of a publishable manuscript and are also required to present their research findings at a national pharmacy or scientific organizational meeting.
Core Rotations
In addition to listed required rotations, residents will complete one month of orientation and training, as have one month to work on his/her residency projects.

- Doctor of Pharmacy degree, successful completion of a Postgraduate Year One Pharmacy Residency or equivalent, and license to practice pharmacy in the state of Tennessee
- Copy of official school transcript
- Letter of intent
- Three (3) letters of reference
- Completion of an onsite interview
