Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellowship

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program is an ACGME accredited program of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. The goals of the program are to train the future leaders of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology for independent academic careers and to prepare them for the subspecialty certification examination.

Six fellows are accepted each year through the national matching program. The last two of the three years are spent in research. An additional research year is available to selected fellows. (International physicians may train in the program for one-two years in order to acquire advanced management skills to implement in their home countries.)

The first year is spent caring for oncology patients at St. Jude and hematology patients at Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center under the mentorship of the St. Jude faculty who also have University of Tennessee appointments and Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center credentials.

Questions may be directed to the Fellowship Director, Jeffrey Rubnitz, MD, PhD.
