St. Jude will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2012, which will also mark the 100th birthday of St. Jude founder Danny Thomas. In preparation for the upcoming celebration in 2012, members of the Thomas family, the ALSAC/St. Jude Boards of Directors and Governors, St. Jude supporters, faculty, staff and patient families gathered at St. Jude June 24 for the unveiling of a memorial statue to honor the life and legacy of Danny Thomas.
St. Jude National Outreach Director Marlo Thomas and her brother, legendary Hollywood producer Tony Thomas, shared heartfelt stories of their father Danny Thomas at the statue’s unveiling ceremony. Marlo Thomas also shared words of gratitude on behalf of her siblings, Tony and Terre, and the entire Thomas family.
