Wall Street to invest in children's futures

More than 800 financiers representing Wall Street’s top financial firms will come together on Nov. 18 for Wall Street’s 14th annual the Taste of New York benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event, sponsored by the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Foundation, will be held at the Regent Wall Street in New York City.

Participants will sample cuisine from more than 15 of the area’s finest establishments including Bobby Van’s, Tse Yang and Bayard’s. Auction participants will also have a chance to bid on numerous items including a golf foursome with Michael Jordan in the Bahamas.

Other auction items include a chance to attend the Vanity Fair’s Post Oscars Party, a gorgeous diamond ring valued at $75,000, golf with all-time favorite Lee Trevino, a Hollywood package which includes a walk-on part in producer Tom Shadyac’s next movie and a script from Friends

Taste of New York is organized by a committee of more than 40 investment professionals representing nearly every major stock and investment firm in the industry. Since the first event was held in 1990, the Wall Street community has raised more than $18 million and has helped support various programs at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital including gene therapy, bone marrow transplantation, immunology and AIDS vaccine research.
