Hematology Care Service

    This rotation will be a two week rotation combined with Infectious Disease Consult Service. During this rotation, the resident will be responsible for medication therapy management for ambulatory patients seen in the Hematology Clinic and any hematology patients that are admitted to the inpatient unit. The majority of patients seen during this experience will have non-malignant hematologic (sickle cell disease, bone marrow failure, severe aplastic anemia, clotting factor deficiencies and other disorders of hemostasis). The resident will be responsible for patient education, pharmacokinetic consults, investigational drug studies monitoring, coordination of delivery of specialty pharmaceuticals and home infusion supplies, medication reconciliation and allergy and adverse drug event reporting.
