The sound of laughter and screams along with neon-colored strings filled the air as the silly string war commenced May 5 in front of the Chili’s Care Center. The event was part of the annual Silly Field Day, which is hosted by the St. Jude Child Life program. The day was filled will games and activities for the patients and families that included an obstacle course, pie toss, spin art, bean bag toss, face painting by clowns and a prize walk.
Silly Field Day is one of the many events coordinated by Child Life that help to provide psychosocial and emotional support to St. Jude patients and families during treatment. The activities promote growth and development by exposing patients to normal, everyday activities.
