My research is motivated by a desire to develop novel insights into the pathogenesis of hematopoietic disorders, including myelodysplastic syndromes and acute leukemias, to guide the development of improved diagnostic tools and therapies. In particular, I would like to understand the molecular mechanisms involved in mitochondrial clearance and determine whether perturbations of this pathway can contribute to hematopoietic malignancies.
