Team Leader, Social Work

I have been a social worker at St. Jude for fifteen years and have had the privilege of observing the advancement of treating children with cancer throughout these years as well as seeing our hospital grow in family centered care. In my position as team leader, I provide clinical services to patients and families. I also supervise the leukemia and transplant social workers and assure that all leukemia patients have a social worker available to provide assistance, depending upon the individual patient’s and family’s needs and desire for services. Social Work services provide support and counseling to help children and families cope with the diagnosis and treatment of leukemia. Your Social Worker is also available to help you plan for all the areas in your life that are affected by cancer, such as relationships with family and friends, school, employment, finances, insurance, and planning for an extended stay away from home.
