Former President Bill Clinton toured St. Jude Children's Research Hospital July 6 and lauded the hospital for its international efforts and the groundbreaking work of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – Washington University Pediatric Cancer Genome Project.
Dr. William E. Evans, St. Jude director and CEO; Richard Shadyac Jr., ALSAC CEO; and Board member Joyce Aboussie guided Clinton on a tour of the hospital, which included visits with hospital faculty and staff, patients and families.
“We were delighted to update President Clinton on the progress we are making, especially given his keen interest in the Pediatric Cancer Genome Project, which is built on the Human Genome Project that President Clinton was so instrumental in moving toward completion during his presidency. Quite frankly, the advances we are making would not have been possible without the Human Genome Project,” Evans said.
