This year, FUNKSHION: Fashion Week Miami Beach partnered with St. Jude to incorporate one of the event’s fashion shows with the FedEx Angels & Stars gala.

World-renowned Brazilian artist Romero Britto was this year’s Angel & Stars Gala honoree. Britto has donated numerous creations and designs to various children-related charities in Miami and all over the world. Britto’s work Season of Miracles, which is featured in the Patient Care Center lobby of St. Jude, offers a joyous vision to the daily presence of those patient families benefited by the life-saving work of St. Jude. Britto donated the artwork to St. Jude when the new PCC opened in 1995.

“This gala is about bringing the hearts and minds of the South Florida community together to help the children of St. Jude through increased awareness and philanthropic support,” said Julio C. Barrionuevo, Vice President of Finance, Planning and Engineering and Chair of the St. Jude Gala Planning Committee. “St. Jude has helped children from all over the world, including many from Latin American and Caribbean countries. I am proud to say that improving the lives of children around the world is part of the FedEx culture because we share the same ‘Absolutely, Positively Whatever it Takes’ attitude for business as we do for integrating ourselves into the communities where we live and work.”

Since 2002, FedEx Express Latin America & Caribbean Division has been the title sponsor of
