Since its inception in 1997, Promesa y Esperanza has raised more than $74 million towards the St. Jude mission of finding cures and saving children.

"During the past four years we have supported St. Jude by raising funds that help make a difference in the lives of its patients and their families," said Felix L. "I had the opportunity to visit St. Jude this year and witnessed how the money raised by our stations and their listeners have helped find new treatments for childhood cancer and other terminal diseases. It has provided hope to the patients and their families during the darkest times of their lives."

During the radiothon, local listeners in each of Davidson Media's participating markets had the opportunity to hear heartwarming stories about St. Jude patients, like Emilio. Emilio is a 14-year-old who is currently receiving treatment at St. Jude. He was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor called ependimoma. At St. Jude, Emilio has received the best medical care thanks to the generous donations of Ángeles de Esperanza. Thanks to events such as this, families never pay St. Jude for treatment and St. Jude covers the cost of travel, lodging and food for patients and a family member.
