On Aug. 9, Target Corporation once again set the pace for excitement for the kids of St. Jude hosting an Indy racecar-themed event at Target House sponsored by Kellogg’s® and Unilever. Unilever’s Klondike the Polar Bear™ and Kellogg’s Tony the Tiger™ roared onto the scene, along the Target Chip Ganassi Race Team. Race car drivers Scott Dixon, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Dario Franchitti. Franchitti was accompanied by his wife, actress Ashley Judd.
After patient families, racers and the crew fueled up at the “Start Your Engines” supper, the kids were invited to get an up-close look at the shiny, red Target race car parked outside. DJ Ricky Mac revved up the action with his rocking karaoke sing-along while kids completed an arts and craft project,. Ice cream was served for a quick turbo-boost before everyone converged outside in the playground area for the Silly String showdown. The Target Chip Ganassi Race team presented the winners’ check to Target House for the team’s recent race victories on both the IndyCar and NASCAR circuits. Ganassi's racing team has donated money to Target House since it opened in 1999.
