The 10th annual FedEx/St. Jude Angels & Stars Miami Gala will be held at the JW Marriott Marquis in Downtown Miami on Saturday, May 19, 2012. This year, we will also be celebrating the 50th anniversary of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

This premier event celebrates the St. Jude International Outreach Program (IOP). The mission of the IOP is to improve the survival rates of children with catastrophic diseases worldwide, through the transfer of knowledge, technology and organizational skills. The St. Jude IOP has clinics in 19 countries around the world.

GRAMMY Award-winning singer and songwriter, Juanes, and his wife, recognized television host and actress Karen Martinez, will host this year's gala. Juanes was the recipient of the 2010 "Al-Rashid Hope Award."

We are excited to present this year's "Al- Rashid Hope Award" to Latin GRAMMY Award-winning singer/song writer and philanthropist Juan Luis Guerra. Mr. Guerra will be recognized for his unwavering commitment to providing assistance and resources to needy children in the Dominican Republic and Latin America, particularly in the areas of health, sports and education.

Recognized television personality and mogul, Daisy Fuentes, will also receive a special recognition for her support with the FedEx/St. Jude gala since its inception.

No place in the world does for children what St. Jude does

St. Jude has developed protocols that have helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancers from less than 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to 80 percent today.
The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.7 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions.
During the past five years, 81 cents of every dollar received has supported the research and treatment at St. Jude.
