Research
Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest cruise operator, has partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to launch a comprehensive fundraising initiative with a goal of raising $3 million for the organization over the next three years.
In March 2010, Carnival launched its Care to Play: Carnival For St. Jude Kids program aboard all Carnival ships. The Care to Play program provides guests an opportunity to participate infun shipboard activities such as Groove for St. Jude and the Beary Cuddly Workshop. The activities raise funds and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. This fundraising effort is the second phase of the Carnival-St. Jude partnership that began December 2009 with the line’s initial $50,000 donation to St. Jude.
In May 2011, Carnival also named former St. Jude patient Lindsey as godmother of their new ship Carnival Breeze. To date, Carnival Cruise Lines has raised more than $1.7 million for St. Jude.
