In 2004, the Jones Group made the decision to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where medical breakthroughs are giving children in communities everywhere the promise of a bright and healthy future. This St. Jude Thanks and Giving® partneship continues to flourish, with annual increases in brand participation and donations since 2004.
In that inaugural year of participation in the St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign, Nine West and Easy Spirit sold gift cards to customers to benefit St. Jude and raised more than $75,800 for the hospital. The following year, the same two brands prompted customers to make a $1 or $5 donation at the register, raising more than $78,700 for St. Jude. In 2007, the addition of 55 Bandolino stores to the participating brands helped increase awareness and donations went up by 16 percent.
In 2008, the Jones Group employees rallied around the cause and were engaged in a variety of meaningful ways, including a meeting with Marlo Thomas.
A turning point came in 2009, as Jones Group added its ready-to-wear brands to the campaign (Kasper, Anne Klein, Jones New York), which included a $200,000 donation from vendors. Then in 2010, Jones Group added a gift card with 10 percent benefiting St. Jude, and again engaged employees with a donation matching program. The register add-on program continued through 2011 as well, as Jones Group asked its customers to “Give thanks for the healthy kids in your life, and give to those who are not.”
St. Jude patients and families are grateful for the dedication of the Jones Group, and its loyal fundraising partnership.
