Zynga is the world's leading provider of social game services with more than 290 million monthly active users playing its games. Zynga, through its online game Cityville, offered Facebook players the opportunity to engage in the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and purchase in-game assets from which 100 percent of the purchase price benefited St. Jude. Facebook agreed to waive its transaction fee for the purchase of the assets.

From June 29 through July 18, 2012, players of CityVille supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by purchasing a virtual version of the iconic Memphis hospital, as well as other limited-edition virtual social goods such as a Marlo Thomas icon, all of which could be placed in CityVille gameboards. There is no cost to play Cityville and Zynga did not profit from the purchase of St. Jude icons.
