Critical Care Course

The Critical Care Course is offered twice a year to employees of Patient Care Services who may be involved with patients while they are in the intensive care unit. While in session, the participants meet one day per week for nine weeks and listen to lectures on a variety of critical care topics

The course is designed to provide the participant with the knowledge and skill to provide nursing care to ICU patients. Content for the course is developed from issues about the following:


Participants will take an exam on EKG interpretation with a minimum score of 85 percent required for passing. Participants must also present a case study based on one of the following conditions:


The Critical Care Course has been approved for 77.1 contact hours of continuing education credits.
