Research
East Tennessee State University College of Medicine started a pediatric hematology/oncology practice in 1990 for the upper east Tennessee region. This program became a formal affiliate of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 2000 in order to provide St. Jude’s cutting edge research therapies for children with cancer and blood diseases. The affiliate program has evolved to provide comprehensive care for our young patients and their families with Child Life Specialists, Social Work, Pediatric Rehabilitation, and nutrition as part of Niswonger Children’s Hospital at Johnson City Medical Center. We serve patients in East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Eastern Kentucky and Northwest North Carolina. We currently have 5 exam rooms, 3 treatment rooms, 2 triage rooms, and an open bay for treatments designed for children’s comfort.
The St. Jude Tri-Cities Affiliate is located on the ground floor of Niswonger Children’s Hospital. Our address is 400 N. State of Franklin Rd, Johnson City TN 37604.
