Visit the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend website for more information about each race.
As a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon, this annual sporting event brings together runners from across the country and around the world to compete and help save the lives of children stricken with cancer and other deadly diseases.
Runners and walkers will enjoy a relatively flat course with a few rolling hills that includes some of Memphis' oldest and prettiest neighborhoods. The starting line is located in downtown Memphis and participants will pass some of Memphis' most popular landmarks and attractions including Beale Street, Sun Studio (where Elvis first recorded) and the National Civil Rights Museum. Runners will experience a dynamic finish at AutoZone Park, home of the Redbirds, Memphis' AAA baseball team.
The race starts off with the two day St. Jude Memphis Marathon Expo on the Thursday and Friday prior to race weekend at the Memphis Cook Convention Center. The Expo will feature exhibitors with the latest athletic product information, as well as free samples. There will be great buys on running apparel and other name brand merchandise.

Volunteer opportunities
If you choose not to run or walk the races, you can still help. Volunteers are needed to distribute registration packets, to help supervise the runner check-in and assist in other race-day activities, such as the spirit stations.
At designated areas throughout the race course, spirit stations are set up to encourage runners and walkers through cheering, singing and other motivational activities. Civic organizations, church groups, bands and other groups are welcome.
This year's St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend is poised to be bigger and better than ever. Don't miss out on your chance to participate or volunteer to benefit the children of St. Jude. Visit www.stjudemarathon.org for more information.
