Every child accepted at St. Jude is assigned an attending physician. This physician oversees all aspects of the child's care. Because of the Solid Tumor Treatment program's multidisciplinary team approach, the child will also be cared for by other physicians and team members.
The Solid Tumor Treatment Team at St. Jude includes healthcare professionals with specialized training in a variety of disciplines related to the care of children and adolescents with solid malignancies. While your child is undergoing treatment, these specialists will be closely involved in your child's care. The team has regularly scheduled meetings to discuss all patients on the clinical service, both inpatient and outpatient. Our physicians provide the state-of-the-art treatment your child needs by working very closely with other experts in pathology, radiation oncology, surgery, and other fields.
