Coordinator tips

Here are a few helpful tips and suggestions from some of our most successful Trike-A-Thon coordinators:

• Create a fun mini town or city. Your participants can color buildings, railroad tracks, street signs, etc. to give your Trike-A-Thon course some personality.
• Designate one or two special participants to be policemen. They can write “tickets” to those not following the Trike-A-Thon lessons they have learned.
• Display your coloring sheets all year long to keep the rules of riding safety always on their mind.
• Give each child a star for completing a lap. By the end of the event, they will be decorated with stars and know how many laps they completed.
• Invite family and friends to attend the event. This allows you to have more help as well as create a fun community event.
• Ms. Darlene from the Wee School in Crossett, Arkansas, suggests to add in another fun activity to your Trike-A-Thon week. One example is to allow your participants to decorate their riding toys. By doing this toys will be unique and personalized.
