Hot Peas 'N Butter blend music and safety for some funky jams
Hot Peas ’N Butter is a unique children’s musical group founded on the premise that you can reach kids through music without lowering musical standards. The group was created in 2000 by Danny Lapidus and Francisco Cotto, who are both professional musicians in New York City. Winners of the 2006, 2008 and the 2009, "Parent's Choice Awards," Hot Peas 'N Butter incorporates elements of traditional Latin music, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, jazz, folk and rock.
The members of Hot Peas ‘N Butter have loaned their talents to the St. Jude Trike-A-Thon by composing two songs about riding safety: "Different Spokes for Different Folks" (the Trike-A-Thon theme song) and "Rayos Diferente," a Spanish language interpretation. The songs are both featured on the Trike-A-Thon DVD, Bikewell and Pedals’ Big Trike Adventure.
Hot Peas ‘N Butter has five albums of children’s music and has been featured on Nick Jr.’s Jack’s Big Music Show. The duo are proud of their partnership with St. Jude and look forward to helping more kids learn about helping sick kids and riding their trikes with care. Learn more about Hot Peas 'N Butter.
