Target helps wishes come true for the kids of St. Jude
Photography by Peter Barta
The Target Corporation once again delighted the kids of St. Jude by hosting a holiday “Wish List” event December 1, 2011. The children took part in exciting activities, snapped pictures in the photo booth and danced along to a special performance by singer Matt Nathanson. In between games and activities, each patient and their siblings got to choose a gift from Target. Toys, jewelry, video games, sports equipment and art supplies were the favorites.
In 1999, Target teamed up with St. Jude to build the Target House. A nurturing home-away-from-home, the Target House is a supportive place for children and their families to stay, play and heal during months of treatment at St. Jude. To help long-term patients feel like ordinary kids, the staff at the Target House and Target employees get together to host several carnival events each year.
